Incorporating the Post Office
into the pub was initially an idea by Landlord, Andy Jones and
Chaddleworth Parish Councillor Paul Johnston. In 2005 the local shop and
Post Office closed down and was greatly missed by the local community.
Something had to be done, so Andy & Paul got together and set the wheels
in motion and in November 2006 the pub took over the role as the local
Post Office
There are other pubs that offer Post Office services but The Ibex is
only the second one in the country to be taking a 'partner approach'
which means they will be working with support from Beverley Dolman the
postmistress of Aldbourne Post Office.
